Mount Carmel Is One of the Most Recognized Mountains in the World

Even if you aren’t from Israel, you have likely heard of Mount Carmel. It is very majestic and has been linked to various historical writings and times in history. It spans a wide area and offers the chance to take some breath-taking pictures you will never forget. There are numerous towns found around this mountain range where you can shop, enjoy nature, hike on the trails, and find a great place to stay at night. This mountain range spans 24 miles.

Cave Exploration

Due to the sloping terrain on one side of Mount Carmel, there are plenty of caves to explore. They are a deep part of the history here. Artifacts from various time periods have been found and identified in these locations. Wine and oil dating back to ancient times have been found in this mountain range. Make sure you wear good shoes and have a jacket. Even when it is sunny outdoors, it can be very chilly inside the caves.

Sacred Elements

Some areas of Mount Carmel are considered to be sacred. Some of these areas are locations where events of World War I unfolded. Earlier wars between the Egyptians and Canaanites are believed to have taken place here. There are holy tombs and writings found along sections of this mountain range. It isn’t known how they got there, which only adds more fuel to the discussion on how they came to be and what they mean.

Most of the people living in this area are Muslim. A common place to visit which is also considered to be sacred is Mahmood Mosque, which is the heart of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The structure of the Mahmood Mosque has captured the attention of people from all walks of life.
