Make Some Time for Fun in the Judean Desert
Some people only notice sand and sun as far as the eyes can see. Others, though, see nothing but opportunity. Eventually, this area turns into the Dead Sea and Jordan, so you aren’t out there in a desolate land without any escape. There are quite a few ravines around this area; some of them are more than 1,000 feet deep. Make sure you stick to the trails and you only explore where you should.
Explore the Terrain
The Judean Desert is a wonderful place to plan for some fun adventures. There are vehicles you can rent for the day to take you through the sand dunes. These vehicles are designed to take on the challenges of the difficult terrain. Rock climbing is also something you may decide to take part in. There are guides who will take you out and show you the basics. They also rent you the equipment for this particular type of adventure.
The Quran Caves are a popular place to visit while in the Judean Desert. They can also be a great refuge from the hot sun during the day. The caves are sloped and tight at some of the turns, so pay attention to the terrain. Wear good shoes and take along a jacket. A lantern can be useful too, as it can be very dark in some of the caves.
Dust Storms
Be ready for dust storms at any point while you are in the Judean Desert. Make sure you have plenty of water and you are able to stay with a group of individuals who know this area well. Dress in layers as it will be hot during the day, but as the sun goes down, it will cool off tremendously. This is the perfect place for camping, and just looking up at the sky to get an amazing view of the stars at night.
