Vacation in Jerusalem – Places to Explore

Plan several days for Jerusalem Tours so you have time to see and do all you want to. The area is full of historical areas, places to go hiking, and museums to learn about the culture. Here are a few places you don’t want to miss.

Western Wall

The Western Wall is what remains of an ancient Jewish sanctuary. It is considered the holiest of all areas in Jerusalem. It is frequented by people who live in the area as well as by tourists. It is a sacred place and should be treated as such, even if you aren’t religious.

Hiking

The grand forests of Jerusalem offer plenty of places for hiking. Har Eitan offers a variety of trails ranging from very easy to very difficult terrain. The climb to the top is magnificent and takes about 2 ½ hours. The hike along Nahal Katlav takes about four hours, but it is a very lovely area. Make sure you dress for the weather and take along plenty of water. Always stick to the marked trails.

Museums

Plan plenty of time to explore the museums around Jerusalem. The Israel Museum is considered one of the best in the world. It is filled with amazing art and archeological finds from the area. If you are interested in the history of the area, go to Israel Museum which is separated into sections based on time periods.

Nightlife

When the sun goes down, there are many places to enjoy the busy nightlife. This includes live music, dancing, and food.
